Curves

Hi Everyone
I was just wondering about Curves the fitness program.  I’ve read in the blogs that some of you go to it and I’m wondering what you think of it.  I’ve never been to any type of gym before and its very intimidating.  I guess its the unknown for me and the big step of getting started.  Anyway if you have info to share with me about it I would really appreciate it.

    I participate in Curves.  Here are my views on it:

    Pros:  You’re in and out within 30 - 40 mins, including stretching.  It is an easy program to remember.  The ladies there are very helpful and easy to approach, as well as most of the members.

    Cons:  It can get ‘boring’ doing the same thing over and over, although, they do mix up the equipment, so you are doing a different order all the time.  If you’re looking for extreme ‘weight’ training, this isn’t a program for you.

    I really just enjoying going out and meeting new people and you get to know the same people at the times you go, and it’s a nice social activity while getting your work-out done.

    Another thing I am wondering about is that I have arthritis in my knees so I’m  not sure if the program is geared to that or if it can be?  Do you know?

    I dont know much about Curves, but I have heard GREAT THINGS…But I do have a bad knee, now I dont know if its the same as having arthritis, but I LOVE the elliptical machine. It is soooooo easy on the knees!

    I go to Curves and I love it.  It does work but you have to be patient with your body.  Plus, theres only woman there so thats even better.
