Just checking in buddies

rn

I hope you are all having a great day

rn

So far today I am still On Plan.

rn

I just finished doing my exerc. DVD for 25 mins. (thats about all I can manage at a time so far)

rn

I also did it this morning and feeling great about it.

rn

I am counting my calories and looks like I can stay within my cals. including dinner tonight.  It’s the after dinner part that seems to be getting me lately but tonight I’m going to try to go for a walk after supper and stay away from the snacks.

One thing I was wondering about and maybe some of you have some ideas.  I’m wondering what is the best time to exercise.  If there’s a time when more calories are burned or if its all the same and just a matter of preference.  Also I have been doing my DVD once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  Is that alot less effective than if I did an hour at one time?  I wonder about eating before or after exercising too.  This is all so new to me.  If any of you can help I would love to get your comments and your experiences with the whole thing.

Thanks and good luck to you all

    Hi Lori -

I don’t have any answers but I wanted to give you a big A for effort!

    Hi Lori,

Doing cardio first thing in the morning before breakfast is great. It helps get the blood pumping for the day, and goes for the dormant  fat cells. If you ate first, then you would basically be working off what you just ate.

If you are doing weights/strength training try and eat some protein up to half an hour after you finished, this helps your muscles grow and helps nourish them.(we actually are tearing the fibers in the muscle when doing weights).

Doing cardio at night is good too, but try and do it a couple hours after your last meal (and no eating after). By doing this, your blood sugar is stabilized therefore you start to burn calories.

I hope I was some help to you. Good luck!!

Oprah’s trainer Bob Greene says to exercise in the morning.  He say’s that by working out in the morning, you give your metabolism a boost and it lasts longer throughout the day.  And he’s probably right, but I personally am not a morning person.  I tried it, and I just couldn’t do it.  I still have found success doing my workout in the evenings.  But, maybe if I did it in the mornings, I would have better results.
